Greg Underwood: Infinitely More Qualified

[1]Looking at Greg Underwood's resume would impress on any reader that he has extremely strong credentials to become Norfolk's
next Commonwealth's Attorney.  He has leadership experience in the military, ideal for Norfolk with its heavy military constituency.
He knows what it is like to have responsibility; that sense of responsibility is second nature to veterans.  Underwood has also proven
his leadership skills in an area where it counts in this election, in the Norfolk and Virginia Beach Commonwealth's Attorney's office.
His opponent has little to compare, no leadership experience at all.  Don't take my word for it, check out his experience on his own
web site.

Underwood has 8 years as the Senior Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney in Norfolk, performing the very same duties he will be
performing when he is elected on March 10th.  And the record shows he performed those duties in an exemplary manner.  His
opponent has been practicing law, but has no experience as a prosecutor.  Are we to send an inexperienced Attorney to the top
prosecutorial office in Norfolk with only defense experience, and court-appointed defense experience at that?  I certainly hope the
voters of Norfolk are smarter than that.  I think we are smart enough to vote for Greg Underwood instead of his opponent.

In addition to his documented superb leadership role in the Norfolk Commonwealth's Attorney's office, Underwood has an additional
4 years as a Senior Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in Virginia Beach, and an additional 4 years in the Norfolk Commonwealth's
Attorney's office.  That is almost 17 years direct experience in the Commonwealth's Attorney's offices in Norfolk and Virginia Beach,
infinitely more experience than his opponent can lay claim to.

Underwood has already managed the office and performed the duties of Norfolk's Commonwealth's Attorney admirably while his
opponent was acting as a court appointed attorney and a litigator and, prior to that, a performer and humorist.  There is nothing
funny about running the Commonwealth's Attorney' staff and office.   The most casual observer can easily see that there is
absolutely no comparison between the two candidates.  Greg Underwood is the best, the best by far, to continue to lead in that most
vital position as Norfolk's Commonwealth's Attorney.

I recently had a chance to converse personally with Underwood.  Our conversation left no doubt in my mind that he is all he appears
to be, and more.  He intends not only to fight crime, but to institute programs and policies to reduce crime in our city.  In addition to
all the prosecutorial aspects of his duties as Commonwealth's Attorney, Underwood has a viable plan to reduce juvenile crime by
working with our youth, the communities they inhabit, their parents, and the school system.  Further, his plans include reducing
recidivism among criminals by working closely with Drug Court, Mental Health Court and re-entry programs.

Underwood has the experience, the knowledge, the leadership, and the moral fortitude to continue and to build upon the already
superb reputation he has already worked so hard to build in the Norfolk Commonwealth's Attorney's office.  Vote for Greg
Underwood on Tuesday, March 10th and give him the opportunity to implement his plans, plans based on a solid foundation of
leadership, experience, and an intimate knowledge of how the Norfolk Commonwealth's Attorney's office works.  This is too important
an election to miss, so get out on Tuesday and cast your vote for Greg Underwood.
