GREG UNDERWOOD NAMED THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE FOR
NORFOLK COMMONWEALTH’S ATTORNEY
Dianne Kaufman, Chairwoman of the Norfolk City Democratic Committee, announced today that Greg Underwood is the
Democratic Candidate for Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney. Greg said "I am honored by the Norfolk City Democratic
Committee’s nomination." He continues his dedicated work toward winning the Special Election on March 10, 2009.
A reception marking the official beginning of his campaign is scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2009, at 8:30am, at
Azalea Inn, 2344 E. Little Creek Road, Norfolk, VA, 23518. The citizens of Norfolk are encouraged to attend to meet
Greg and to hear his plan for promoting safe schools, neighborhoods, and businesses in Norfolk. “I’m looking forward to
meeting everyone and discussing how we can work together to continue to improve the quality of life here in Norfolk,”
Underwood said.
Greg Underwood is a veteran prosecutor with more than 15 years experience in Norfolk and Virginia Beach. He is
currently a Senior Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney in the Office of the Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney, where he
leads a team of 15 people responsible for the prosecution of all felony charges and some misdemeanor charges, which
originate in Norfolk Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
