| Election for Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney set for March 10 NORFOLK A special election will be held March 10 to determine the city’s next Commonwealth’s Attorney. The office came open when former Commonwealth’s Attorney Jack Doyle left to become a Circuit Court judge. His chief deputy, Robert Slaughter, has stepped into the job in the interim. Only one person has announced his candidacy for the post: prosecutor Greg Underwood will seek the Democratic nomination. If elected, Underwood would be the city’s first black constitutional officer since 1993. The Virginian Pilot |
