| Crime affects the quality of life of all Norfolk citizens, regardless of the neighborhood or community in which we live. As your Commonwealth's Attorney, I will continue to focus on serious violent crimes in our fight against all crime. We, as a community, must be proactive in our approach to fighting crime. We must continue our support for Drug Court, Mental Health Court and re-entry programs for those returning from incarceration to the community in an attempt to reduce recidivism. We must work together as a community to save our children. We must instill in them the values of a good education, and pitfalls of criminal behavior, and its lasting impact on their young lives. Many of them do not realize that a felony conviction closes doors and future opportunities. As your Commonwealth's Attorney, the office will actively engage the community. We will participate in school functions to promote safe schools. We will attend and participate in community forums to promote safe communities. We will continue to attend civic league meetings to hear your concerns and share with you our crime fighting strategies. Please join me and others in the Norfolk community in our efforts to keep Norfolk safe. I have the experience, energy and determination to prosecute criminal offenders to the fullest extent of the law and protect the rights of victims. I appreciate your support, and your vote on March 10, 2009. (You can find me www.facebook.com - at "Gregory D. Underwood" - click on to become a supporter.
